Title of program: Learn to Grow and Use a Dozen Culinary Herbs
Description: Learn how to grow a dozen culinary herbs. For each herb, discover the best time (season) and way to start (seed, cutting or transplant), cultural requirements, harvesting and preserving techniques, and methods for using them in the kitchen. These herbs are easy to grow and can be grown in containers for the summer.
Length and format: one hour including time for questions (45 minutes talk plus 15 minutes questions). This is a powerpoint presentation. This can be an in person workshop depending on the season
Title of Program: Identify and Use Edible Flowers From Your Own Garden
Many plants in our gardens have flowers that are edible. Learn which flowers can be used in the kitchen to add beauty, color, taste, and interest in our dishes. This presentation covers more than 20 flowers that are commonly grown in the garden. The flowers are divided into three groups of plants: the flower garden, the herb garden, and the vegetable garden.

Title of Program: Grow Culinary Herbs in Containers
Description: Many people want to grow herbs to use in the kitchen but do not have the space. Fortunately, most culinary herbs can be grown in containers for the summer. This presentation will cover common culinary herbs and their cultural requirements such as light, water, and temperature. This presentation will describe which herbs do well combined in one container and which do better solo. The different types of containers will be described, as well as the correct potting mix and fertilizer.

I am the president of the Potomac Unit of the Herb Society of America, the Regional Director for Region IV of GardenComm, and a member of the National Capital Area Garden Clubs.
