Wonderful Speaker with Great Ideas
I really enjoyed Nan's one-hour talk on design concepts. She had some great ideas on how to get more color in your garden. There were lots of photos to illustrate her concepts.
Terrific Talk!
Nan spoke at the San Diego Natural History Museum in September 2019 and did a terrific job. She customized her talk to focus on native plants and was clear, helpful, and entertaining. The information she presented was practical and inspiring.
Excellent lecture on native plants!
We invited Nan to give a lecture on native plants for San Diego gardens here at the San Diego Natural History Museum. She tailored the talk to our audience and kept them extremely engaged with her practical advice and beautiful photos. On follow-up surveys, Nan received exceptionally high scores from our audience. I highly recommend Nan as a lecturer for an audience of any experience level.
Vegetable Seed Starting Workshop
The workshop was excellent. Nan was welcoming and excited about giving the class. I liked the intro, the little bit of the botony science she shared, and the pace was perfect. Loved the hands on and especially coming away with everything ready to go. Nan was incredibly patient and answered everyone’s questions. I think we all appreciated the reason “why” in all her responses, too.

One of the best classes and best speakers ever!
I took Nan's seed starting workshop and I am so glad I did! I thought I knew a lot because I have been planting seeds for years but I learned more than I could have imagined and had a wonderful time. If you have the opportunity to take any of Nan's classes or hear her speak, you should definitely take advantage of it. High quality excellent information in a fun package.

I attended a talk by Nan in SLO, and she did a great job, answered lots of questions, and I learned a lot from her.
Knowledgeable and Enjoyable
I had the pleasure of listening to Nan speak at a California Native Plant Society meeting. Her knowledge, phiolosopy, and enthusiasm for gardening were a pleasure to hear. She engaged the audience and gave a lot of practicle advice. I thank Nan for coming to our Chapter.

Nan has an amazing way of speaking that gets you excited about gardening in a sustainable way. She is interesting and easy to understand. This particular talk is one that should have been given long ago and is VERY informative for everyone living in So Cal.

With the growing need to educate Otay residents with tangible water conserving, sustainable landscape practices, she was the first choice as the workshop’s gardening and landscape expert when I was coordinating the event. Great talk on Marketing to California Gardeners
Nan gave an informative talk at the Winter 2012 Direct Gardening Association meeting in San Diego. She was engaging and well-prepared. CA represents a huge market for garden products but with so many micro climates, serving customers there can be a challenge. Nan made the issue much clearer for our membership.

Nan came with well prepared powerpoints and handouts. She did her research to make the information relevant for our growing zone. She knows plants and had information about frost tolerances at her fingertips.
