spring veggies class by Emily Chen, 16 January 2021 Had a great time and was surprised by how many babies I left with! Cynthia is extremely friendly and patient with her explanations. She tends to offer many extra tangential explanations, and has so much knowledge to impart but never enough time!

Deborah DeFilippo
Best gardening instructor in SF Bay by Deborah DeFilippo, 1 March 2020 Cynthia Sandberg brought her local Love Apple Farms class experience to our HOA gardening group in Portola Valley, CA (8 miles west of Palo Alto) yesterday. She combined her Tomato Masters and Vegetable gardening class into one six hour class which included first class instruction with invaluable tips, q&a and each of us sowed a tray of tomatoes and vegetables that we’ll nurture until it’s time to plant. When we woke up this morning Cynthia had not only sent us her presentation slides and more instructions for our trays, her “links list” with external links to buy everything we need, articles, and links to lots and lots of other resources. The value Cynthia delivers is incredible (mind blowing in this day and age). But wait, there’s more, Cynthia gave each of us her mobile to text her with any questions. I used this with veggie questions last season, several times, and always received timely, helpful responses. Looking for someone to teach you all you need to know to get great results in your garden? Look no further than Love Apple Farms and owner Cynthia Sandberg. She’s brilliant, she’s worked this on her own farm for over two decades and very engaging.

Great “Ding Dang” Garden Classes by Cynthia Mallison, 18 March 2019 I've had the pleasure of taking three different garden classes through Love Apple Farms. The classes have been very educational, helpful, and entertaining all at the same time.

As an elementary school teacher, I know how hard it is to teach. Cynthia provides a great balance and environment.

Before my first class with her, I wondered why a garden class would take six hours! I found out that there's sooo much to learn! It's well worth any beginning, intermediate, or seasoned gardener to take her classes.

I'm looking forward to taking more of Cynthia's classes. Be ready to enjoy her humor and her wealth of knowledge! You'll have a "ding dang" (my favorite phrase of hers) good time!

Outstanding Instructor by Pat Waite, 6 March 2019 It was recently my pleasure to take the Master Tomato Gardener Class at Cynthia's Love Apple Farms. I have been raising tomatoes for 30+ years, but the chance to pick up pointers from such a devoted fan of tomatoes was an opportunity I relished. Cynthia did not disappoint.

Her presentation style is filled with enthusiasm and keeps everybody engaged. She uses an excellent mixture of personal stories and science to get her points across. She has a great sense of humor, too.

I highly recommend Cynthia, either as a teacher at her Love Apple Farms venue, or a guest speaker at your event.

All you ever wanted to know about tomatoes by Pauline Jensen, 19 April 2018 I took Cynthia's Tomato Masters class April 2018. I had read the information that she so generously gives away on her website. I have a few years growing tomatoes under my belt. But her class outlined best practices with the scientific articles to back her up. I learned things I didn't even know I needed to know. I appreciated the straight forward manner in which the material is presented, how well Cynthia controls the discussion so we don't end up discussing moot points or some one's personal saga. It is also great to see some one living her dream, it must have taken a leap of faith to walk away from a secure job to make a living growing tomatoes (and so much more). I look forward to seeing how the farm continues to evolve.

Awesome Class! by Todd Latham, 20 May 2017 I took Cynthia's Master Tomato Class last weekend as my girlfriend and I had purchased several different tomato plants from her the week before. The information was great especially considering that I knew nothing about growing tomatoes. 3 Reasons Cynthia is Awesome! by Doug Rice, 2 May 2017 Cynthia stunned me at a recent presentation. She soared past even my highest most hopeful expectations for three reasons.
1. Knowledge. Her time tested success in the garden underwritten with through research from the top scientists provides a powerful rare combination.
2. Clarity of communication. Her attention to detail dove deep into the complexity required to reach the pinnacle of successful growing.
3. Organization. The structure and flow allowed us to absorb the plethora of information easily and the follow up, with notes, links, and email access for questions, assured the knowledge transfer.

Workshop: Designing the Perfect Vegetable Garden by Scott Sekimura, 27 May 2015 This was the first class I had taken at Love Apple Farms. I have since attended two more classes and have two more later this year. I didn't know what to expect as I only knew the farms association with Manresa and thought it would be interesting to take a course from someone who is partnered with a restaurant of Manresa's pedigree. Post class I don't whether to thank Cynthia profusely or cause her bodily harm. Her passion in presenting was contagious and motivating. The information alone is worth the price of admission but equally as valuble are the resources/references she provides via email after class. Her last bullet point that struck home was "Don't procrastinate". And the reason for my thank or harm comment above is represented by half of my front yard undergoing an 80% remodel for the last two months with at least another month left in the process. Seriously, if you are thinking about creating a vegetable garden at home you seriously need to consider taking this class. The amount of time you will save from learning from others mistakes is invaluable.

Can't boast enough about her classes - I have taken two and have already signed up for two more!

Fabulous! by Mary, 9 April 2015 I just took the summer vegetable gardening class from Cynthia. It was awesome! I'm new to gardening and now I feel much more confident about my garden. Cynthia is so friendly and knowledgeable. What a wealth of information and so much sharing of resources! Even an expert gardener could learn from Cynthia's years of experience. The seeds alone more than covered the cost of the class. It was worth every penny. I'm looking forward to taking more classes here.

Jeff Hawkins
Great teacher!! by Jeff Hawkins, 20 March 2015 I have taken four classes at Cynthia Sandberg's Love Apple Farms over the last 6 years or so. The results of those classes are spectacular vegetables, grown in my back yard, in raised beds that I also learned how to make and prepare from Cynthia. I should also add that she always answers my email questions when they arise. My tomatoes last year were the best in the 15 years I've been growing them. Clusters of 4 to 6 tomatoes where before there was only one. I also now cultivate worms in a worm bin and produce my own worm castings and worm tea, thanks to Cynthia's expertise. In her classes, she is SO informative, and the knowledge is imparted in such a way that you cannot help but learn, and improve on your gardening techniques, regardless of your skill level. Bravo!

Excellent Speaker and Presentation by Audrey Armstrong, 17 March 2015 I recently attended Cynthia's Summer Vegetable Gardening class and she shared a lot of very useful information that I will be using in my garden this year - her presentation was very well organized, full of great tips and information even if you're an experienced vege grower, and she even provides lots of links to resources and a copy of her powerpoint presentation afterward.

Summer Veggie Garden by PatriciaWells /Ron Frontella, 17 March 2015 As other participants above mentioned, Cynthia was VERY well organized, understandable if she was an attorney!, and a spectacular teacher. The class covered exactly what we expected & more. We kept looking at each other saying, "no wonder our garden didn't grow so well"! We loved that Cynthia was very forthright in telling us her mistakes throughout the years, in an attempt to help us avoid them. If gardening is your thing, you must not miss this informative class. Thanks Cynthia for your enthusiasm, it's contagious. We look forward to a fun summer of gardening!

Worth The Time And Effort!! by John Stewart, 16 March 2015 I drove two plus hours from home to Santa Cruz to attend Cynthia's Summer Garden Seminar. It was worth the drive there and back again to learn so much in a day about the many facets of proper summer gardening. It completely changed my approach and for a few reasonably priced suggestions will make the time I spend in this year's garden that much more fun and productive. If you love to garden and need a step-by-step review of your approach to find opportunities for improving your results - DON'T MISS THIS SEMINAR.

Designing the Perfect Vegetable Garden by Tim Herbert, 13 March 2015 This was a four hours very well spent. Cynthia has years of experience that you can take advantage of by participating in one of her courses. The presentation was well structured, informative, with many insights to take back home and apply. Cynthia's presentation skills are very good - the four hours went by very quickly. Her farm is absolutely beautiful and worth the trip all by itself.

Tomato transplants from Seed Workshop by Christine Berge, 6 March 2015 If you have a chance to take a class at this beautiful farm DO IT!! I am a very expert gardner, actually have a horticulture degree, but took this class to get my hands on Cynthia's seed catalog. Wonderful Presentation by Julie and Michael, 6 November 2014 Cynthia is the Martha Stewart of Chickens. We took her class on how to raise chickens at home and we came away with not only a wonderful day, but a ton of knowledge that prepared us for bringing home the baby chicks, keeping them safe and warm, and preparing their coop. The Chicks are doing well thanks to her thorough presentation and the notes we took from her class. Thank you Cynthia!

Vegetable Gardening by Kay Cayton, 15 August 2014 Cynthia is an amazing educator. I knew nothing about growing vegetables and ended up with a bountiful summer garden after taking her class. I learned so much from her that I took her winter vegetable class as well. Her classes are hands-on and she explains things in a way that anyone can understand. I highly recommend her classes!

Mentor to Us All by Therese Lenk, 26 May 2014 How lucky we are to have Cynthia to teach us pragmatically, how to steward the land! She breaks it down to the essentials, provides details and the step by step 'how-to', shows where the "land mines" are to avoid, focuses on quality and cost efficiency and freely shares all her resources, her knowledge, her wisdom which she's acquired over many years of trial and error. We need more earth steward mentors like Cynthia! I've taken many classes with her and they are all exceptional.

If you want to learn how to grow better veggies… by Carin High, 27 April 2014 I've taken two classes from Cynthia and heard her speak several times. Her classes on all aspects of gardening are phenomenal, but if you want to grow healthier, bigger, tastier tomatoes - take her Tomato Masters class! Her techniques work! I followed her planting instructions last year and for the first time had large, luscious tomatoes and an abundant tomato crop. She is also very generous with her time and will respond in great details to questions she receives.

Cynthia Sandberg by Harriet Talan, 14 April 2014 Hi,

I have heard Cynthia lecture and teach many times during these past few years. Her knowledge about many aspects of gardening and farming is extensive. Her ability to impart her knowledge and experience is with excellent clarity, excellent organization and communication skill and appropriate humor. I always have left her classes enriched with new tips and helpful information. She draws on her experience and those mistakes that everyone makes with trial and error, and offers what she has learned in order for others not to make those errors themselves.

I have always enjoyed hearing Cynthia and know that others will as well.

Just Wonderful! by Julia Lam, 14 April 2014 Cynthia is, quite possibly, the best lecturer, expert, and teacher I have heard speak. She imparts her knowledge in a clear, generous, and organized manner, and her passion for gardening and teaching others her craft really shines through. She is no nonsense but completely warm and approachable, and has a fabulously dry sense of humor. I took her Summer Vegetable Gardening workshop at her farm this past weekend, and can't wait to learn more from her!
