How to Create an English Garden
Carol Chernega worked in Jane Austen's garden in Chawton, England. This experience gave her insight into the mind of the English gardener, and spurred an interest in English garden history. She has traveled throughout England over 20 times since 1997, including organizing group tours to the Chelsea Flower Show. These experiences led to the development of her lectures on English garden design, and the Literary Gardens of England.
Carol's the author of the tips booklet, How to Create an English Garden, and the book, A Dream House: Exploring the Literary Homes of England. Both are available on Amazon. Carol has also written for National Wildlife Magazine and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Carol's garden maintenance business, One Garden at a Time, specializes in hand-pruning. Her mission is to teach homeowners the benefits of proper pruning techniques as opposed to the wholesale shearing of shrubs. She's the producer of a DVD, Pruning Shrubs with Your Personal Gardener, which teaches homeowners basic pruning techniques, also available on Amazon.
The 7 Mistakes Home Gardeners Make lecture was developed after working for homeowners for several years and observing the same mistakes being made over and over. The difficulty was in confining it to only seven!
