Carolyn Mullet is the author of "Adventures in Eden: An Intimate Tour of Private European Gardens" which was published by Timber Press in 2020. She is also the owner and creative director of CarexTours offering international garden tours for the discerning garden traveler. In addition, she produces popular social media posts showcasing gardens from around the world on both Instagram and Facebook for a large international community of garden and plant enthusiasts. Her love of gardens and design was honed in a 30-year career as an award-winning landscape designer in the Washington, DC metro area after formal training at George Washington University.

Growing up on the flat, fertile muck lands of Northern Indiana in a countryside dotted with Amish mint farms, Carolyn developed an aesthetic preference for simple and lean spaces. She received her formal training in Residential Landscape Design from George Washington University following her first career as a potter. After more than two decades as a landscape designer for prominent design/build firms, Carolyn now provides design services through Carex: Garden Design by Carolyn Mullet and hosts European garden travel experiences through carexTours.
Whether working as a designer or hosting tours to exemplary European gardens, Carolyn is driven to connect people with nature and the outdoors through garden spaces. She provides daily garden inspiration to a Facebook community of 1.5 million fans - outpacing many top industry publications. Carolyn has a depth of knowledge about both historical and modern trends in garden design, English gardens, and the naturalistic approach to garden design known as the Dutch Wave. Carolyn is available to speak at garden and horticultural clubs, botanical centers, and special events. She also enjoys sharing her knowledge with groups in person on her annual garden tours.
