(New!!) When & How to Break the Rules (to achieve a glorious garden!)

March 15, 2021 By Rebecca Sweet

Rebels wanted! A well-designed garden is so much more than following a prescribed set of garden ‘rules.’ Instead, a truly memorable garden contains counterintuitive concepts resulting in “Wow – I’ve never thought of that!” moments. To achieve this, sometimes you just need to be a rebel and break a few rules. Let landscape designer Rebecca Sweet walk you through when and how to break the rules to achieve true garden glory for a one-of-a-kind garden that fits your unique style.

About Rebecca Sweet

Rebecca Sweet is a garden designer in Northern California whose gardens have been featured in national magazines such as Sunset, Fine Gardening, Horticulture, Woman's Day and American Gardener, as well as local and regional publications. Rebecca has also been a radio guest on GardenLife and Martha Stewart Living and has been featured on the critically acclaimed PBS series Growing a Greener World .

In addition to designing gardens, she is the author of Refresh Your Garden with Color, Texture & Form and co-author of the national best-seller Garden Up! Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces, as well authored the 'Harmony in the Garden' column in Horticulture Magazine. In her Harmony in the Garden blog, Rebecca invites you further into her world of garden design, sharing tips, amusing observations and how-to videos for both the novice and experienced gardener.

Another of Rebecca's passions is to teach gardeners how to design like professionals. Leading talks and workshops on a variety of innovative, practical and fun horticultural subjects, her goal is to bring out the "hidden artist" which she believes lives in each and every person. Seeing the creativity lightbulb go off in someone's head, and hearing a murmured 'Ah-Ha!' in the audience is her ultimate reward.

With Rebecca's engaging and informative presentations, your group will walk away enlightened and energized to try their own hand at refining and designing their gardens.
